Meet Emma: JHP’s Blogger and Social Media Specialist
Hi friends! Emma here. As Jeri Hoag Photography continues to grow it has become necessary for Jeri to hire someone to help with her blog and social media accounts. I have worked with Jeri on and off for the last few years, but am so excited to work with her on a more frequent basis. Fun fact: Jeri has photographed my family since the birth of our first child in 2013.
Just a bit about me – I was born in Michiana and have lived here all my life. I met my now husband, Brad, when we were only 12. We began dating our freshman year in high school and have pretty much been inseparable since. We were married during our freshman year of college and recently celebrated our ninth wedding anniversary.
I have the two greatest kiddos in the world. I know. I know. Every mama says that her children are the best. But my two really are just fabulous. Jaxon is 6 and loves all things legos, dinosaurs, and science. He is always reading. He reads so much that we sometimes have to take the books out of his room at night so that he will go to sleep. Isla is one and loves all things “girl.” She loves to do her hair and wear pretty dresses and shop with her mama. But make no mistake. She will tell her brother what’s what if she needs to.
I am a stay-at-home mama and most days I love it. It is the hardest and most involved job that I have ever had, but there is nothing I would rather be doing in this phase of life. When I am not managing schedules, running errands, or organizing play dates you can find me at my son’s school where I volunteer in his classroom twice a week, or teaching Sunday School.
I graduated from Bethel College, now Bethel University, in 2015 with a bachelor’s in English. It should come as no surprise then that when I have a moment to myself I am likely to be found reading. With a cup of coffee in hand of course! My favorite writers include Charles Dickens, T.S. Eliot, and Jane Austen. My caffeinated beverage of choice is a flat white. Although I have recently learned to appreciate americanos.
I love: hiking, camping, visiting with friends, shopping, crafting, eating delicious food, studying history, and serving in my community.
I despise: Cooking, weeding the yard, waiting in lines, trying on clothes, and grocery shopping.
