“Not all angles may be good angles, but with acceptance you learn to love yourself and accept yourself for who you are. I think from that, you gain confidence.”

Ms. C is a recent client of Jeri Hoag Photography. She had never participated in a boudoir photography session before. She chose to do the shoot because she felt that it might help her to gain confidence and empowerment. Ms. C was not nervous before her session, but she was unsure of what to expect. During her session with Jeri she felt comfortable and at ease. Her favorite part of the session was, “Having Jeri hype me up! It was fun to try all the different poses.” After her session, Ms. C reported that her shoot proved to be even “more” than she had anticipated, that she loved her experience with Jeri from start to finish.

Ms. C’s shoot with Jeri left her with a newfound sense of self and confidence. Her luxury boudoir session helped her to learn to love her body as it exists now, not for how it use to exist. Ms. C said, “As women our bodies are constantly changing and its truly amazing what the female body is capable of. All bodies are beautiful and every woman deserves to be comfortable in their own skin.” She shared that boudoir photography is empowering because it reveals a more intimate version of yourself to the camera that is then captured in a photograph. “It makes you see you for you,” Ms. C said. (Although here at JHP we think it worth mentioning that Ms. C’s husband loved each one of her images!

If you find yourself interested in boudoir photography, Ms. C has this piece of advice for you. “Do it!” She believes that every woman should participate in at least one boudoir session in her lifetime. If you find yourself concerned over being in a vulnerable state in front of the camera, she says, “Just vibe with it and relax…” Being exposed in front of the camera is worth it for not only the pictures, but the experience as well. For Ms. C, the experience proved to be a total confidence booster. As she said, “Not all angles may be good angles, but with acceptance you learn to love yourself and accept yourself for who you are. I think from that, you gain confidence.” It seems to me that this could translate to real life. Not all experiences are good experiences. However, it is usually from the more difficult or less than ideal moments that we grow the most, the moments that we learn the most about ourselves, like what we are truly made of.

Ms. C leaves Jeri Hoag Photography friends with one piece of advice and that is to, “Love yourself for your body now and not what “society” thinks it should be. The sexiest thing a women can carry is confidence.”
