One of Jeri’s recent clients was this precious little gal named Oona. Born at 9 pounds 11 ounces, mama was surprised by Oona’s features as she did not resemble her older sister. Her nose and facial expressions come from daddy, but her pouty little lips are those of big sis.
Mom and dad arrived at Oona’s unique name while watching MasterChef Jr. One of the contenders was named Oona, and not only did mom and dad both like the name, neither of them knew anyone named Oona.
Mom suspected that they were expecting a baby girl right away. When dad found out of their coming child he hoped for a little boy. Of course, both agreed that a healthy baby mattered most. They had originally decided to not find out if baby was to be a boy or a girl. However, excitement got the best of mom and she asked the ultrasound technician to write down what they were having. When mom got in the car, she ripped open the envelope and read the news. She asked dad if he wanted in on the secret. Mom told dad they were having another girl and he just shook his head. Baby Oona made the ratio of girls to boys in the house three to two.
When recalling her pregnancies, mom says that her most cherished time with all three babies was when they first began to kick, but only she could feel. Mom says that baby’s early kicks are like a special secret between just the two of them. Mom loved knowing that wherever she went and whatever she did, she was never alone.
