Once you book you’ll receive a curated prep guide and personalized styling tips to help you feel confident and fully prepared for your session. On the day of your session, please bring wardrobe pieces that feel meaningful and expressive. Whether you prefer a flowing gown, a fitted dress or other form-fitting piece(s) that highlight your beautiful bump, or something unique to you – it is important that you wear something you feel comfortable in. Layering pieces and accessories is also encouraged to add variety, texture, and a personal touch to your final look.
During your photography session, I’ll guide you with gentle posing and natural expression coaching so you can feel relaxed, radiant, and truly seen. This photo shoot is sure to be an unforgettable experience that honors your journey into motherhood with images that are elegant, empowering, and completely yours. Frequently Asked Questions
When is the best time to schedule my maternity session?
The ideal time for maternity photos is between 28–34 weeks of pregnancy, when your bump is beautifully round, but you’re still feeling relatively comfortable. If you’re expecting twins or multiples, we recommend scheduling a bit earlier, around 24–28 weeks, since your belly will likely show sooner and babies may arrive earlier. Let’s capture this special moment while you’re glowing and feeling your best!
Where will my session take place?
Sessions can take place on-location around the scenic southern Utah area or in a private studio, whichever setting best fits your vision and comfort level.
What should I wear for my maternity session?
I recommend wearing form-fitting outfits that highlight your bump (like fitted dresses, bodysuits, or knits) as well as flowy dresses or personal pieces that feel like you. A button up shirt with jeans is always fun. You’ll also receive a prep guide with wardrobe tips and inspiration. And if you’re bringing along your partner and/or children make sure that they wear something that coordinates with you.
Can my partner or children be included in the session?
Absolutely! Including your partner or older children can add a sweet, personal touch to your images. I will take a few photos with them included, some with just the kiddos and some with just your partner and then the whole family, but the rest of the session is focused on mom. Just let me know ahead of time so we can plan accordingly.
How long does the session last?
Maternity sessions typically last about 90 minutes, depending on the number of outfit changes and the location.
How long will it take to get my pictures back?
Within 48 hours after your session you will receive an email with a link to your gallery. After you choose the images you want to purchase it will take about 2-3 weeks (in the winter and spring) and 3-4 weeks (in the summer and fall) to get them back fully edited along with the products you order.
What about hair and makeup?
Professional hair and makeup isn’t required, but highly recommended. If you want it done then let me know when scheduling that way I can be sure to get it set up right away with one of my hair and makeup artist. There is an extra charge to add this to your session. This will help you feel and look your best.
What if the weather is bad on the day of my outdoor session?
No worries—we’ll reschedule if needed, or switch to a studio session if you prefer. Flexibility is always part of the experience.
What if I need to reschedule?
If you change up to 72 hours ahead of time there’s no charge, but after that there’s a $50 fee. If you cancel entirely you will lose the session fee retainer you put down to hold your spot on my calendar.
