To Become the Main Character in Your Own Story- St. George, Utah
We often fail to see ourselves as others see us. Afterall, we tend to be our own worst critics. And for women who do not struggle with this, we applaud you. However, for those of us whose critical voice sounds loudest of all, we get it. When Miss. S arrived at her session she was not quite sure what to expect. Miss S had lived her entire life feeling that her body did not match the societal standards and expectations, that she was not beautiful enough. She had never participated in a boudoir session and was feeling a bit unsure of posing and self-expression. She felt insecure and uncomfortable to say the least. Miss S quickly realized that she was in good hands with Jeri and between Jeri’s calming presence and the calming atmosphere, found herself feeling comfortable. The session was just the start of Miss S’ ability to see herself as others see her. Miss S began to realize that she was better at working a camera than she had previously believed. She also began to see how empowering boudoir photography can be and the opportunity it gives women to take ownership of their bodies.
When Miss S saw her photos she realized that she is not the side character in her own story. She saw for the first time that she is in fact, the main character, “the it-girl,” to use her own words. She was able to truly see how beautiful inside and out that she is. She immediately shared her images with her best friend who said how happy and proud she was of her and that she could see her inner and outer beauty shine through as well.
A luxury boudoir photography session with JHP opened the door for Miss S to feel empowered, confident, and beautiful. Her session, “was the best experience I could have wanted.” She wants everyone to see her pictures. Her time with Jeri helped her to see the depths of the beauty that she possesses, one of the highest compliments JHP could ever receive.
To women considering a boudoir photography shoot, especially a session with Jeri, Miss S says, “Do it.” To younger woman Miss S advises, “Don’t ever think that because you’re not a certain body type that you’re ugly. You are beautiful no matter what society says.”
