There’s something incredibly special about photographing seniors who are truly ready for all that life has to offer them. As a senior at Snow Canyon High School, Kylee brought her bright personality, creative flair, confidence, and school spirit to her shoot. Taking place in July, Kylee’s session was one of my favorite’s this summer. She did great in the Southern Utah heat.
A Senior Session That Was “Fun, Eventful, Awesome”
When Kylee reached out for her senior photos, it was extra meaningful because I met her mom shortly after my family relocated to Utah. We’re friends! Kylee said she chose me to be her photographer because of my, “amazing work,” and I couldn’t be more honored.
From the moment we started shooting, we were laughing. Kylee brought such a light and confident energy, and I made sure she felt relaxed and completely herself in front of the camera. Her favorite part of the session? “Laughing constantly with Jeri [me]” Honestly, I couldn’t stop smiling either.
Personal Style, Bold Confidence
Kylee styled her session perfectly. JHP suggest three to four outfit changes in senior photo sessions. Kylee’s favorite outfit choices? Her black dress for a timeless look and a green jersey to represent her school spirit and Snow Canyon colors. Her favorite photos from the shoot? The ones we took on the football field, a place that truly encompasses her high school memories.
We also explored the Red Hills Desert Garden. Photographing in the garden gave us vibrant textures and that beautiful evening desert light to work with. Every image reflected her personality: “smart, kind, pretty, talented, and confident.”
Looking Ahead: Kylee’s Next Chapter
After graduation Kylee plans to explore the world of tattooing and piercing, a perfect fit for her artistic background. Throughout high school she was involved in art clubs and creative activities, so it’s no surprise she’s choosing a path where her talents lie.
When asked what advice she’d give future seniors in preparation for their session with JHP, she said, “Go into it confident and ready to have fun.” That mindset made all the difference in her session.
